The iconic Drehgriffel Nr. 1 from Leuchtturm1917 is now also available as a gel pen. Inspired by the original model from the 1920s, it features a hexagonal aluminium body with a finely tapered tip and twist knob in a contrasting colour. The pen is made from precision-milled aluminium and brass, then lacquered and sealed for lasting durability.

This edition is part of the New Colours 2026 collection, inspired by the creative energy and bold hues of the 1970s. The pen is equipped with a Japanese gel refill that produces a smooth, precise 0.5 mm line in deep black ink. The ceramic ball ensures a consistent and effortless ink flow.

The refill was developed in Japan, where writing is considered an art form known as Shodō: “the way of artistic handwriting.” This pen brings the same precision and refinement to everyday writing, allowing each thought to flow effortlessly onto paper.
