The Drehgriffel Nr. 2 is the mechanical pencil in Leuchtturm1917’s distinctive Drehgriffel series. Its hexagonal aluminium body, fine steel tip and twist knob give it its characteristic shape. The tip and knob have a graphite-coloured finish that reflects its use as a pencil.

• 0.7 mm HB graphite lead for writing and sketching
• Twist mechanism with an internal reservoir for spare leads
• Refillable with suitable 0.7 mm leads

The mechanism is made in Germany. Turning the knob opens the chuck at the tip and advances the lead. Releasing it closes the chuck to hold the lead in place. The reservoir stores several spare leads and feeds the next one when the current lead has been used up.

This Burgundy version is part of Human Intelligence, the New Colours 2027 collection from Leuchtturm1917. The collection centres on personal ideas, lived experience and thinking by hand.
