This cover features artwork from Tomie, the debut work and one of the most well-known creations of horror manga artist Junji Ito. The illustrations are based on original artwork and bring Tomie’s world to life, nearly forty years after Ito’s debut in 1987. The Original-size cover is made from iridescent faux leather and shows Tomie with her cool, unmistakable smile.

The design shifts from deep pink on the front to mint green on the back. The illustration, taken from the chapter Tomie: Adopted Daughter, subtly changes its appearance depending on the light, reflecting Tomie’s mysterious nature. On the back, Tomie appears again with her long black hair and the signature beauty mark beneath her left eye, finished with the “TOMIE” signature. The inside of the cover is black. Inside the pocket is a hidden illustration that reveals a darker side of the story. Even when the Techo is inserted, this detail remains part of the design.
