Hobonichi 5-Year Techo - A6 Size - 2026-2030

The 5-Year Techo features a page design that makes it easy to keep up with for all five years. Each daily page lines up the same date across five years for users to write each entry side by side, making the book more exciting as each year passes. The book includes all the benefits and features of the standard Hobonichi Techo, such as the grid paper layout on the Tomoe River paper, lay-flat binding for easy writing, and daily quotes. The book cover is made of slightly textured PVC and is reminiscent of some softcover dictionaries and bibles. The book comes in two sizes: the A6 “Hobonichi 5-Year Techo” and the A5 “Large Hobonichi 5-Year Techo.” The cover of the book is a few millimeters larger than the paper size.

This A6-size book has pages dated across a 5-year span. The textured cover is a calming shade of brown with the years foil-pressed in gold, and the book contains a dark brown bookmark for a complete look that works well without adding an additional cover.

Each page contains the same, easy-to-use 3.7 mm graph paper as the A6 Hobonichi Techo Original and A5 Hobonichi Techo Cousin, making it perfect for writing or drawing. The paper is a subtle cream color that’s easy on the eyes, and the printing is charcoal gray to allow handwriting to stand out from the page. On each spread, the left page has the date and day of the week for all 5 years, with days of the week written in Japanese, while the right page is left blank for additional notes or sketches. Because each page contains a total of 178 squares of grid paper per day, a single day’s entry is compact enough to either fill with writing or write a single sentence and feel satisfied with the entry. It’s a perfect setup for those who are worried about being able to continue using a book for 5 years.
